Machinist
Pay Rate: $34.00 – $40.00/hour, depending on experience.
Work Location: Onsite – Antioch, CA 94565
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 07:00 am – 15:30 pm with overtime and weekend hours as needed
Duration: 12-month contract with possible extension/conversion based on performance and other factors.
Additional Details: Standard Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
Raise is currently hiring a Machinist on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with transition from development to production
- Manufacture, assemble, and test mechanical,according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications and written procedures
- Interface with production leads, supervisors, manager and QA inspection to ensure timely customer delivery
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
- Setup and operate precision calibrated tools including but limited to, Lathe, gauges, etc.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
- Perform routine lathe, equipment maintenance and functions such as daily clean-up of work areas
- Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to achieving organizational success
- Basic mathematics skills
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Must have experience with lathes, manual machining, and CNC machining. Please note that experience with computerized machining does not apply towards this role.
- 3-5 years direct experience in industrial manufacturing, integration, or other relevant field
- Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
- Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instruction
- Hand dexterity required to assemble small mechanical components
- Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Perform repetitive work including lifting of heavy items up to 44 lbs.
- Work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualifications:
- Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
- Experienced in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
- Experience with manual lathe machining
