Senior Business Systems Analyst
- Location: Toronto, ON – Hybrid – (In office every Wednesday and 3rd Friday *Mandatory. Onsite frequencies are subject to change based on banking requirements)
- Contract Length: 6 Months with Possibility of Extension.

Responsibilities:
- Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers.
- Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs.
- Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
- Interview or survey workers, observe job performance, or perform the job to determine what information is processed and how it is processed.
- Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.
- Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
- Expand or modify the system to serve new purposes or improve workflow.
How You’ll Succeed
- Understanding and Documenting Requirements—Work closely with Product Owners and business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen, and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. It’s an asset if you have experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, Confluence, Jira, user story writing, Use Case Activity Diagrams and experience with Web based and mobile applications.
- Solution Design—Work with Solution Architects and Application Consultants to deliver client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.
- Leading and Mentoring – Support end-to-end project implementation and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.
Must Have Requirement:
**Successful candidate will have the ability to communicate professional requirements into technical language **
(5-7 years experience required)
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst with previous FI experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
- Confluence/JIRA/MS Teams/ALM
- Expert in use case activity diagrams and transforming use cases into stories/scenarios/acceptance criteria for Dev/QA workflow and consumption
- Previous mobile banking experience
- Technical acumen
- Previous API experience
- Computer science education
Nice to Have:
- MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
- Willing to convert to Full Time
- Previous Banking experience
- CBAP Certification
- Experience working on AI projects *strong nice to have
Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models.
- Knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc.
