Raise is currently hiring an Ethanol Plant Labourer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description 

The Plant Laborer in this role will provide hands on operational support across the Grain Handling, DDGS loading/unloading, and general plant areas at the organizations Lloydminster Ethanol Plant. This position is primarily operational and task driven, supporting daily plant activities under the direction of site Operations and Product Handling staff. Training will be provided for site specific procedures and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, handle, and store grain safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures.
  • Load DDGS into trucks and railcars while maintaining safety, quality, and loading standards.
  • Operate mobile equipment such as wheel loaders, front end loaders, forklifts, tractors, and man lifts.
  • Support plant throughput by working collaboratively with Operations on routine production and quality matters.
  • Perform basic inspections, housekeeping, and minor maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Complete required documentation including receipts and bills of lading; escalate issues as needed.
  • Monitor grain handling and testing equipment and report operational concerns.
  • Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and required safety programs.
  • Assist with general plant and product handling tasks as workload and operations require.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating heavy or mobile equipment in an industrial, agricultural, or plant setting.
  • Strong awareness of safe work practices and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic troubleshooting and upkeep.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor/industrial conditions.
  • Reliable, safety focused, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Basic computer skills for operational and record keeping tasks.
  • Experience Considered an Asset (Not Required)
    • Grain handling, agricultural, or material handling experience.
    • Familiarity with scales, sampling, or bulk material loading systems.
    • Exposure to industrial plants, terminals, or similar operating environments.
  • Education and Skills 
  • Trade certification or power engineering background.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS or TDG requirements.

Additional Information

  • As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments and fit for work testing.
