Retail Sales Manager
- Pay rate: $40.00 – $45.00/hour (based on experience)
- Contract Length: 1 year with possibility of extension.
- Position based in Regina, SK, with the potential for daily travel up to 70%, including possible overnight stays averaging 8-10 nights per month.
Raise is currently hiring a Retail Sales Manager team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Job Overview
The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for creating a market for and driving sales and achieving growth goals of Bioscience and Performance Fertilizer Products. This role will manage the market creation process to meet established goals and long-term strategies. Retail Sales Manager is also responsible for coordinating with agronomy and marketing to develop a local/regional scientific advanced crop nutrition messaging that is consistent with our overall marketing tactics.
This position is responsible for taking an active role in mentoring new employees, aiding assigned Retails Sales Advisors, providing team leadership at team meetings and support of other special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute annual Bioscience and Performance Product Sales growth targets and marketing plans for their individual territory. Evaluate opportunities for growth and manage customer distribution strategy.
- Work with Account Manager(s), Key Account Managers Product Line, Agronomy, Marketing, and other functional areas to determine "go to market" model by region and to develop a value proposition based on current customer segmentation, market trends, and strategy.
- Jointly coordinate with the Sales Leadership, Agronomy and the Crop Nutrition Leads to develop a consistent agronomic positioning of products.
- Assist with development of training materials. Assist with internal TSM train the trainer training revolving around the portfolio including creating a business case for retailer support, portfolio alignment with all products, agronomic knowledge of advanced crop nutrition and positioning the value of biological products for retailers and farmers.
- Develop annual calendar of activities for the promotional and training activities by customers within sales territory.
- Organize and participate in technical and promotional events and conferences/forums. Support and develop promotional materials and campaigns by customer/region.
- Work in conjunction with account manager(s) to create weekly competing products analysis, budgets, forecast and customer data transfer back to sales team and other functional areas as below:
- Top performer amongst sales team – based on annual performance ratings.
- Mentor for newer retail sales advisors
- Provide leadership and direct support for key projects and initiatives for commercial sales team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Ag Business, Marketing, Agronomy or Soil Science
- 5-7 years of high-level sales and/or marketing experience.
- Strong background with proven success in proprietary products or technology driven markets such as traits, specialized agronomic products and/or services.
- Strong agronomic understanding.
- Retail experience and a vast understanding of retail trends and business operation.
- Exceptional customer relationships skills and adept at developing trust through listening and responsiveness.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation and training skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent team building and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Results-oriented.
- Strong computer skills, which include proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
