Change Management (Organizational) Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Create a change management plan that addresses the needs of the project and communicates expected changes and benefits

 Conduct a change readiness assessment, applying assessment tools to assess readiness, culture, risk, resistance and the impact of change, among others

 Review and provide input on stakeholder engagement

 Conduct needs assessments

 Develop and/or collaborate with communication leads to develop comprehensive communication strategies

 Write summaries/briefing notes as required to plan for communication, training and implementation accordingly

 Develop and/or collaborate with Training leads to develop training needs strategies and guides, coordinates and/or facilitates training to ensure successful implementation and sustainment of changes

 Develop an approach to embed/institutionalize the change to sustain the benefits achieved, including knowledge transfer, performance management, continuous improvement and other related practices

 Participate in MAS Design and Implementation workshops and demonstrations 

QUALIFICATIONS

 Post-secondary education in a professional discipline pertinent to the job function (i.e. change management, strategic management, organization development) or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience

 A minimum of six years in the practical application of change management methods and strategy, including complexity, culture, risk, readiness and other assessments, stakeholder identification, analysis and engagement, change communication planning, and training strategy development  

Experience developing clear, compelling communication/training materials (e.g., plans, decks, newsletters, FAQs, etc) for diverse audiences, including executive-level communications

 Experience presenting complex ideas clearly and persuasively in workshops, briefings, and training sessions

 Considerable experience working at a strategic level, liaising with stakeholders to identify potential change impacts and ensure change plans are in place

 Strong negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to build consensus amongst stakeholders at all organizational levels.

 Ability to communicate effectively, excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, influencing and presentation skills; Strong ability to facilitate small to large sized groups and discussions

 Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish, build and maintain collaborative relationships with various stakeholders for the purpose of coordination and meeting the project objectives

 Thorough knowledge of current change management methodologies, principles, practices, processes, tools and templates

 Formal change management accreditation such as being Prosci certified is an asset The City may contact the references provided.

Deliverables:

 Facilitation of workshops, briefings, training sessions and stakeholder engagement sessions

 Other deliverables as directed by management Collaboratively work with third-party Supplier Change Management Specialist to provide a change management plan that incorporates

 Communications plan

 Training and development plan

 Knowledge transfer plan(structured methods to evaluate learned tasks) 

Sustainment strategies to ensure long-term adoption of change
