Analytics Reporting Specialist
Pay Rate: (flexible)
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Contract Length: 12 Months, Hybrid

Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that effectively
convey insights and drive decision making
• Optimize existing dashboards and reports for performance, scalability, and
usability.
• Implement performance optimization techniques for performance and scalability
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and data engineers to gather
requirements and translate them into actionable reporting solutions.
• Develop documentation, training, and best practices for end users to maximize
adoption of reporting tools.
• Work with the Data Management team and other stakeholders to ensure the
team has access to the data required for analytics and insights.
Experience:
• Proven experience as a Power BI Developer working with enterprise-scale
datasets.
• Strong expertise in Power BI Dataflows, DAX, and Power Query (M language).
• Hands-on experience designing and building interactive dashboards and reports.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and relational databases
(SQL Server, Azure SQL, or similar).
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while engaging stakeholders in a professional, consultative manner.
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills; ability to adapt
communication style and message based on audience (peers, stakeholders,
executives)
• Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
• Development experience with geospatial dashboards using Esri ArcGIS
technology
Deliverables
The deliverables for this project include:
• A detailed assessment report of the current TPS reporting environment.
• A comprehensive design document outlining the new reporting framework along with security and privacy controls and data models.
• The developed and integrated modernized reporting system to ensure the
designs adhere to data management standards and best practices in
collaboration with data analysts, data governance and business partners.
The development of robust, reusable, and scalable data solutions and pipelines
for automating the ingestion, processing, and delivery of batch and real-time or
near real-time data.
• Test and validation reports demonstrating the performance and reliability of the
new system and benchmarking for the data quality.
• Training materials and sessions for the staff.
• Data literacy, data mapping, data quality monitoring and lineage artifacts to
ensure that all stakeholders understand the data and its implications.
• Documentation of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, including detailed
descriptions of data extraction, transformation, validation and loading
procedures.
• Documentation of business rules and transformations applied to the data to
ensure consistency and accuracy.
• A final project report summarizing the work carried out, the outcomes achieved,
and recommendations for future improvements.
Mandatory:
• Must have previous experience with development in the Microsoft ecosystem (.Net framework) and specifically in the Microsoft Azure and Power BI.
• Must adapt to TPS/ITS working conditions and core values.
Preferred:
• Experience working with Public Safety organizations.
