You are a Field Service Technician experienced with a proven track record of with electronic instrumentation and field service work. You are interested in collaborating with a creative team and helping solve the toughest problems to customize solutions for specific customer applications that protect people, the environment, and critical infrastructure.

The Raise has partnered with our client, a leader in the design, manufacture, and service of extremely sensitive technologically advanced radiation detection systems. Flexibility, versatility, and the ability to customize radiation detection solutions for specific customer applications, make this client the leading supplier to the steel, recycling and waste industries.
Now, they are looking for you, their new Field Service Technician.
What you will be doing?
The Field Service Technician plays a key role in ensuring the reliable operation of our client’s radiation detection systems at customer sites. This position involves installing, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment while providing technical support and training to customers. The successful candidate will have solid hands-on experience with electronic instrumentation and field service work, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the engineering and production teams.
Practically speaking, you will:
· Install, commission, and verify the performance of new radiation detection systems at customer sites.
· Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and field repairs on existing systems.
· Conduct radiation system calibrations following Client, ANSI, and IAEA standards.
· Provide technical training and support to customers on system operation and maintenance.
· Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues using diagnostic tools and schematics.
· Prepare clear and accurate service documentation, including calibration certificates and field reports.
· Maintain accurate records of parts usage and site activities.
· Support the service and engineering teams with field feedback for product and process improvements.
· Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with customer and company safety standards.
· Represent the client professionally as the primary technical contact in the field.

We are seeking a dedicated professional for a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive annual salary, comprehensive benefits, and paid time off. This role is based in Oakville, ON, and ideal candidates will be available for regular in-office work.

· The position also involves regular travel across North America, with occasional international assignments as required.

What you will bring
Education & Experience
· Diploma or degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
· 3–5 years of relevant experience in field service, technical support, or equipment installation.
· Experience working with industrial instrumentation, control systems, or analytical sensors.
· Experience with radiation detection or similar technology is an asset.
Technical Skills
· Strong knowledge of electronic systems, sensors, and diagnostics.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
· Proficiency with Windows-based software, networking, and communication interfaces (LAN, RS-232/485).
· Familiarity with calibration procedures and measurement verification.
· Basic mechanical and wiring skills for field installations.
Other Requirements
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
· Valid passport and able to travel internationally.
· Willingness and ability to travel up to 50–60% of the time.
· Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
· Comfortable working in industrial environments such as scrap yards, steel mills, and ports.
