Pay: $23.00/hour on W2
Work Type: Onsite – Irvine, CA 92618
Work Schedule: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM with OT as needed
Duration: 12-month contract with a high possibility of extension
Job Overview:
* Under general supervision, the Operations Inspector is responsible for performing detailed visual and functional inspections of production and RMA (Return Material Authorization) products to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
* This role focuses on identifying process failures, performing cosmetic inspections, and recommending improvements to maintain and enhance product quality.
* The Operations Inspector ensures that all company Production and RMA product lines meet established cosmetic, packaging, and assembly specifications before shipment.
* The position plays a key role in maintaining quality control documentation, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and upholding the highest ethical and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform detailed in-process and final visual inspections on production and RMA products, identifying cosmetic, packaging, or assembly defects.
* Inspect finished products for contamination, foreign matter, or any other visible defects as defined by inspection training standards.
* Ensure all quality assurance and control procedures are followed, including compliance with safe work policies.
* Document inspection results by completing reports, logs, and summaries of rework and waste, and enter data into the quality database.
* Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams (RMA, Production, Engineering, Receiving Inspection) to analyze and resolve issues.
* Verify and communicate inspection results accurately through print or electronic media, ensuring data validity and traceability.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying quality issues and promoting process efficiency.
* Assist in rework activities to ensure reworked products meet established specifications.
* Participate in inventory counts and support packaging activities as needed (e.g., hand packing, kit assembly).
* Maintain work areas, equipment, and records in a clean and organized manner following 6S standards.
* Provide training and support for assemblers and assist with cross-training initiatives as directed by management.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Minimum 3+ years of quality inspection experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
* Production experience is a must.
* Experience inspecting monitors, TVs, or similar electronics preferred.
* Strong understanding of drawings, blueprints, assembly instructions, and cosmetic specifications.
* Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
* Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and Engineering Orders (E.O.s).
* Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload effectively.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
* Dependable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing production demands.
* Proven record of work history longevity and reliability.
* No drug screen or credit check required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* IFE (In-Flight Entertainment) production experience preferred.
* Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
* Previous experience with cosmetic inspection or electronic assembly quality control is an asset.
