We at Raise are hiring a Senior Analyst, Financial Systems for one of our top clients. After establishing themselves as an industry leader, they’re now expanding their team to meet rising demand. 

The Role:

The Senior Analyst, Financial Systems will work collaboratively with IT and other business areas to support the finance team in various initiatives ensuring current systems are managed, maintaining data integrity, leading and implementing new tools. This role will drive automation and process improvements in Finance. This position reports to the Director of Accounting within the corporate finance function.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead finance role for new systems projects impacting financial reporting, accounting, taxation and/or treasury
  • Work collaboratively with IT, other functional areas and/or outside vendors to define business requirements, review initial process and program designs; and support system implementations and upgrades including integration and report requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, IT, business, internal and external auditors, to address business needs and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes.
  • Coordinate and execute tests related to systems changes, including system upgrades and patches and changes to integrations with the system.
  • Provide on-going support on financial systems and collaborate in supporting any other systems that impact financial data
  • Work with finance/accounting team to identify inefficiencies and develop strategies with internal and/or external partners to automate existing manual finance processes
  • Ensure data integrity of financial systems for reporting and compliance with IFRS
  • Create project business cases to analyze processes, determine project scope, define resource, budget, timelines and document the deliverables when/if required
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of finance processes, system requirements, and configurations, ensuring transparency and knowledge transfer to SMEs and other finance members as required
  • Provide training, and support to end-users on system functionalities related to finance/accounting processes, fostering understanding and proficiency

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of financial systems management, including implementation or upgrade of existing ERP or other financial solutions to improve processes.
  • Technical – strong understanding of computing fundamentals and technical systems, including network, hardware, systems administration and development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, accounting information systems, business or finance/accounting
  • Strong understanding of IFRS reporting requirements.
  • CPA or working towards CPA designation an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of business processes and systems impacting financial statements and underlying accounting entries
  • Strong experience with Tier 1 ERP applications, preferably INFOR LN
  • Highly developed problem solving and analytical skills with exceptional ability with Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint is advantageous.
  • Strong ability to build trust and influence others. Communicate clearly and succinctly with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Teamwork mindset – ability to successfully interact with individuals within and outside of the organization.
  • Possess initiative and able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively work with/manage outside consultants
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.
