Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
- Pay Rate: $43.10-$53.35/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 12 months
- Location: 50 miles within approved HUB location (Remote)
Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
- We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to lead and advance our test automation strategy while ensuring the quality and reliability of mission-critical applications.
- This role involves designing and executing comprehensive test plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior QA engineers.
- The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test automation, database testing, and Agile methodologies, with a focus on back-end processes and scalable, high-volume systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensure new and existing product functionality is reliable, defect-free, and meets business requirements.
- Design, document, and execute test plans and test cases for component-level, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Advance test automation practices while performing manual testing when appropriate.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to validate requirements and identify gaps.
- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Develop and report test metrics, including coverage and confidence levels.
- Identify, report, and troubleshoot defects; verify fixes promptly and accurately.
- Provide leadership and mentorship within the QA team, acting as a resource for peers and liaising with engineering management.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software QA and testing, including both white-box and black-box strategies.
- 3+ years of experience in test automation and database testing, with ability to write and execute SQL queries.
- Strong understanding of software development frameworks, architecture concepts, and SDLC.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Team System and Azure DevOps.
- Proven ability to work in Agile environments and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance and load testing tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
