Test Technician III
- Pay Rate: $26/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 11months with possible extension
- Location: Irvine, CA 92618 (Onsite)
- Work Hour: Start time is 5:00 AM PT with OT expected
Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
- The Test Technician III is responsible for reading and interpreting sophisticated schematics containing both analog and digital circuitry.
- The role involves troubleshooting complex PCBs down to the component level and using a variety of advanced test instrumentation, including audio and video test equipment.
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for testing activities across one or more product lines.
- Adapt to various testing levels, from PCBA to LRU.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality Assurance to ensure quality products meet acceptance test criteria per ATP.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, written/verbal instructions, and layouts to perform testing and troubleshooting.
- Conduct operational tests and isolate faults to ensure conformance with product specifications.
- Diagnose and isolate failures down to the component level.
- Record and maintain test data in MRP-SAP for traceability and generate in-process quality notifications.
- Utilize test and diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, VOD systems, DVMs, signal generators, etc.).
- Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble, and test units as needed.
- Perform final verification of products and related documentation for QA and traceability.
- Assist Test Engineers in setting up test stations and maintaining burn-in racks.
- Learn and utilize company systems such as MRP-SAP, Chorus 2.0, and Team Center.
- Ensure calibration and certification of all test equipment and hand tools.
- Support continuous improvement through Lean Concepts and 5S practices.
- Provide cross-functional support in production lines, warehouse, stockroom, kitting, and assembly as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- One-year certificate from a technical school in Electronic Technology or related field.
- 4–6 years of related experience as an Electronic Test Technician in manufacturing/production.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and schematics for troubleshooting.
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with PCs, Windows, and test-related software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical issue reporting.
- Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronic Technology or related field.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP.
- Background in programming automated test equipment is highly desirable.
