Mechanical Technician II

  • Pay Rate: $40-$43/hour on W2
  • Location: 30 miles within North Weymouth, MA 02191 | Relocation is an option

Raise is currently hiring a permanent, full-time team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the proper operation, compliance, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of such station systems as air systems, air dryer systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, gas compression, prime mover, and all other equipment vital to maintain gas delivery through the compressor station.
  • Recognizes and reacts to abnormal conditions associated with duties.
  • Completes paperwork and reports related to station equipment maintenance accurately and completely.
  • Advises, as required, other employees in performance of station equipment maintenance duties.
  • Consistently works in a safe, responsible manner and actively participates in safely related programs.
  • Actively participates as a work group team member and maintains a harmonious work relationship with fellow employees.
  • Performs work in compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies, such as Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
  • Provide Operation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting of Turbine/Compressor package unit, which including start, stop, alarm & operation variables monitoring, and initial response as required.
  • Assists others in troubleshooting and repairing all station equipment.
  • Work with significant independence on standard assignments.
  • Continuously demonstrate and promote Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in design reviews with the ability to decipher diagrammatic/one-line drawings
  • Ensure that all pertinent records are accurate, current and that preventative maintenance schedules are timely.
  • Monitors operational pressures, alarm set points and react to abnormal conditions.
  • Monitors, operates, and performs routine inspections on station air systems, fuel systems, cooling water systems, oil systems, and safety systems.
  • Operate Turbine, auxiliary equipment, station valves.
  • Monitors operation of station filter systems and liquids storage systems.
  • Involved in planning work and giving budget related information as required.
  • Be a strong successful team member and/or lead as needed.
  • Performs all duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of directly relevant training and experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, on call & standby, and travel overnight as required.
  • Currently resides or is willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possesses the desire to learn and advance, as a Mechanical Technician.
  • Working knowledge of operations used in maintenance and repair of pipelines and operational equipment.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Able to work independently with little to no direction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work and contribute to a team environment where inclusiveness, integrity, honestly and openness are valued.
  • Proven ability to drive and perform job safely.
  • Innovative problem solver without compromising SOPs.
  • Willing to assume responsibility and take initiative to resolve issues.
