Stations Equipment Engineer

Contract Length: 1 year

Pay Rate 100.00 hour

Location: Burnaby, British Columbia 

Raise is currently hiring a Stations Equipment Engineer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.

Description 

The Stations Equipment Engineer in this role professional, will be a licensed practitioner responsible for providing engineering, estimating, planning, and quality management services for medium complexity projects and operations

Responsibilities

  • Develop Safe Solutions:
    • Develop designs, analyze and resolve problems, and interpret engineering specifications.
    • Applies initiative and judgment on medium complexity and scope assignments for .
  • Project/Operations Assistance:
    • Propose changes in plans and estimated costs.
    • Recommend payment for work completed by contractors.
    • Prepare progress reports and coordinate work schedules.
    • Assists management to meet safety, cost, quality, and time objectives.
  • Resolve Technical Problems:
    • Resolve highly technical and unusual design and field engineering problems.
    • Conduct independent studies and analysis, exercising independent judgment.
    • Recommend safe engineering designs to support successful operations/project completion.
  • Engineering Practice Contribution:
    • Contribute to the development of technical standards.
    • Provide guidance and advice to other engineering professionals to develop future capability.
    • Make decisions related to methods and designs.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent with High voltage equipment knowledge and experience.
  • Electrical engineering background
  • Maintaining a class 5 driver's license is required.
  • Utility experience (Nice to Have)
  • Testing & commissioning knowledge/experience (Nice to Have)
  • Quality assurance knowledge/experience(Nice to Have)
  • Education and Skills 
    • Bachelor's or higher in a relevant field ( Electrical Engineering preferred)
    • PEng and will be required to Provide Proof of Permit to Practice, registered with EGBC when hired

Additional Information 

  • Candidates in this role will be working a hybrid schedule with at least 2 days in the office per work or as required
  • Travel – once per month to sites across BC or as required
  • Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
  • Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network
