Raise is currently hiring a Post Award Contract Professional on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description 

The Contract Professional in this role will be responsible for performing the formal, end-to-end management of medium-to-high complexity post-award contracts. In this role, you will ensure that major utility projects and ongoing operations are delivered safely, with high quality, within budget, and strictly on schedule. Acting as the key bridge between suppliers, project teams, and the organizations supply chain organization, you will actively manage contract performance, mitigate commercial risks, and drive maximum value from established agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Post-Award Contract Administration: Perform comprehensive post-award contract management activities, applying expert industry practices to oversee change management, manage contract submittals, process payments, and steer contract/project completion workflows.
  • Performance & Compliance Monitoring: Ensure both BC Hydro and its suppliers fulfill all contractual obligations. Monitor performance metrics, proactively identify issues, take timely corrective action, and communicate clearly with stakeholders to minimize risk.
  • Relationship & Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain collaborative, productive relationships between suppliers, project stakeholders, and supply chain teams through timely reporting, active communication, and structured issue resolution.
  • Financial & Budget Controls: Forecast, monitor, and report on contract usage and spend. Ensure all contract activities strictly align with BC Hydro’s contract and financial control policies and budget requirements.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide expert guidance and advice to internal business units regarding contract management and public sector procurement law, applying supply chain concepts to secure the best value for the organization.

Qualifications

  • (9) years of direct contract management work experience.
  • Proven post-award contract management expertise, including hands-on experience with:
  • Change Management: Negotiating, drafting, and processing contract amendments, scope changes, and variations.
  • Payment Processing: Reviewing progress draws, verifying milestones, and administering payment certificates.
  • Submittal Management: Tracking, reviewing, and coordinating technical and commercial deliverables.
  • Contract Closeout: Successfully managing final deliverables, deficiencies, and project completion protocols.
  • Strong collaborative skills with a track record of working effectively across diverse, cross-functional project teams.
  • Preferred & "Nice-to-Have" Assets
  • While not strictly required, candidates possessing the following will be highly prioritized:
  • Prior experience working within the Utilities sector or the broader Public Sector (with knowledge of public procurement law).
  • Pre-Award Knowledge: Experience with sourcing, tendering, and pre-award procurement processes.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (specifically for contract tracking, purchase orders, or payment approvals).
  • Experience managing or mitigating formal commercial claims and dispute resolution processes.
  • Familiarity with leveraging AI tools to streamline administrative workflows, reporting, or contract analysis.
  • Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Economics, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • A Certificate in Project Management (PMP), Supply Chain Management (SCMP), or equivalent is considered a strong asset

Additional Information 

  • Hybrid work — Monday to Friday (2 days in office), 8 hours/day, any change needs pre-approved by manager
  • Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
  • Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
