Job Overview
The Technical Writer / Contracts Advisor supports Contract Administration teams in the development, review, maintenance, and control of EPC contract documentation throughout the project lifecycle. This role works closely with Contract Administrators, Project Engineers, and key stakeholders to ensure contractual records, correspondence, change requests, and project deliverables are accurately documented, maintained, and communicated in accordance with project requirements and document control standards. The position also supports contract change management processes, milestone completion reviews, and contract administration reporting. This role requires on-site presence at the Houston Campus five days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Review, edit, format, and redline contractual documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
- Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and filing of contract documentation and contractual records within project document management systems.
- Review and coordinate contractor milestone completion notices for internal review, approval, and documentation.
- Draft, edit, and process contract change requests in accordance with established project procedures.
- Coordinate the review of contractor change proposals and supporting documentation with internal stakeholders.
- Maintain contract change registers, correspondence logs, payment milestone trackers, and other contract administration records.
- Track contractual deliverables, notices, milestones, and key commercial actions to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
- Support contract reporting activities by providing status updates on pending change requests, contract actions, and commercial matters.
- Collaborate with Contract Administration, Engineering, and project teams to ensure effective communication and documentation of contractual activities.
- Ensure document control practices are followed and contractual information is accurately maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare and edit professional contract documentation.
- Experience reviewing, editing, and managing technical or contractual documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while coordinating with multiple stakeholders, projects, and functional teams.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, organization, compliance, and record management.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects or contract administration functions.
- Proficiency with SharePoint for document management and collaboration.
- Experience using Aconex for project documentation and records management.
- Experience using DocuSign for document execution and workflow management.
- Familiarity with contract change management processes, milestone tracking, and contractual correspondence management.
