Manager Experience Engineering
- Pay Rate: $90.00/hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 2 Months, with a possible extension

Raise is currently hiring a Manager Experience Engineering on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
Our Client is seeking an experienced and visionary Manager, Experience Engineering to lead the technical strategy, architecture, and implementation of our next-generation in-store communication and device ecosystems. In this role, you will be the technical anchor for bridging physical retail constraints with robust software engineering. You will guide a talented engineering team, drive complex vendor evaluations through RFPs, and spearhead the rollout of mission-critical solutions that enhance store associate productivity and elevate the customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Strategy: Guide engineering teams through the design, implementation, and migration of advanced device communication software tailored for retail environments.
- Vendor Evaluation & RFP Management: Lead the technical evaluation of vendor responses, participate in live vendor demos, and provide authoritative thought leadership to executive stakeholders to drive final technology selections.
- Communication Ecosystem Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of in-store communication workflows, including Push-to-Talk (PTT), VoIP telephony, associate-to-associate chat, and dynamic extension assignments.
- Call Routing & Infrastructure Integration: Direct the integration of customer inbound call routing, department-based call groups, and seamless interoperability with Cisco/PBX enterprise infrastructure.
- Cloud-Native Evolution: Champion and execute the transition toward a scalable, cloud-native roadmap while maintaining reliable device-agnostic architectures.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated hands-on history of implementing or migrating device communication software specifically within brick-and-mortar retail environments.
- Core Technical Skills
- Retail Edge Awareness: Deep understanding of physical in-store constraints, including patchy Wi-Fi connectivity, geofencing parameters, and optimizing software for store associate productivity.
- Platform & Hardware Expertise: Strong hands-on knowledge of hardware, enterprise networking, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) tailored for Android platforms.
- Domain Expertise: Proven fluency in Push-to-Talk (PTT), VoIP, mobile handheld support, device-agnostic architectures, and cloud-native application development.
- Enterprise Telephony: Direct experience integrating communication systems with Cisco or legacy PBX infrastructure, department call groups, and advanced routing logic.
- Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Certifications (Preferred)
- Relevant certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
- Certifications in enterprise networking or mobility management (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Android Enterprise Associate/Professional).
- Agile/Scrum leadership credentials (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP).
