Job Overview:  

• Reporting to the Supervisor, Project Controls, the Project Controls Analyst is responsible for supporting project execution teams through cost management, forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, reporting, and earned value analysis. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate project financials and ensuring effective project controls throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will utilize the Project Controls Cost Management System (EcoSys) and collaborate closely with project teams, stakeholders, and control professionals to provide timely and accurate project cost information. 

Key Responsibilities:  

• Required:
  • Analyze, monitor, and maintain project costs at the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) level, including control budgets, incurred costs, commitments, and forecasts. 
  • Provide project teams with accurate, timely, and insightful cost reporting and financial analysis. 
  • Perform earned value analysis and measurements to identify trends and anticipate forecast impacts. 
  • Execute monthly project close processes and prepare comprehensive project reports, including comparative capital cost estimates using Excel and EcoSys. 
  • Prepare, document, and process project change orders in accordance with Project Management Office standards and established procedures. 
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to review project performance, evaluate cost trends, and develop accurate cost forecasts. 
  • Review and validate cost transactions to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with project controls requirements. 
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with the broader Project Controls team to support project objectives. 
  • Liaise with Project Managers and Field Cost Analysts to maintain awareness of project progress, changes, key milestones, risks, and issues. 
  • Maintain project Work Breakdown Structures to support project execution, cost control, accounting requirements, asset creation, and project closeout activities. 
  • Provide guidance and support to Engineering Cost Associates related to work order maintenance, invoice coding, and invoice validation. 
  • Participate in project meetings to remain informed of changes to scope, cost, schedule, risk, and overall project progress. 
  • Ensure project controls activities are conducted in accordance with industry best practices, company procedures, and established project requirements. 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance project controls processes, reporting accuracy, and cost management practices. 

Qualifications:  

• Required: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex project and financial data. 
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and cross-functional teams. 
  • Proficiency with Oracle, PCMS, EcoSys, and Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, validation, and reconciliation. 
  • Ability to identify issues proactively, communicate concerns effectively, and contribute to practical solutions. 
  • Knowledge of project controls principles, cost forecasting, budgeting, earned value management, and project reporting is considered an asset. 
• Preferred: 
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale capital, engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects. 
  • Experience working within project controls, cost control, project accounting, or financial analysis environments. 
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies, work breakdown structures, and project lifecycle management. 
  • Experience using enterprise project controls and cost management systems such as EcoSys, Oracle, and PCMS.
