Project Manager – Agile Delivery / Policy Administration Systems
- Pay Rate: $75/hour (on W2)
- Contract Length: 6-month increments, likely 12/18 months
- Location: Remote

The Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on Project Manager with strong Agile delivery experience and the ability to evolve into a Product Owner role supporting policy administration systems and adjacent insurance technology products.
A key policy administration platform is undergoing a significant version upgrade as the organization positions it to become a more strategic component of its technology ecosystem. This initiative requires a Project Manager who can drive execution while developing a deep understanding of the platform, its business functionality, and its integration with other systems.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of disciplined project delivery, product-oriented thinking, and the ability to work closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate operational needs into actionable development priorities.
Over time, this individual will have the opportunity to assume greater product ownership responsibilities, helping shape priorities, manage backlogs, and guide the continued evolution of the policy administration platform and related products.
This role requires someone who can manage delivery today while growing into product ownership tomorrow.
Responsibilities
- Lead technology projects from planning through execution, implementation, and delivery.
- Support a major version upgrade of a strategic policy administration platform.
- Develop a strong understanding of policy administration workflows, business requirements, and supporting technology integrations.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational needs, define requirements, and translate priorities into actionable development work.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and drive consistency in Agile/Scrum practices across internal and external delivery teams.
- Use Jira to manage project activities, product backlogs, user stories, dependencies, blockers, and delivery progress.
- Collaborate with business, technology, architecture, and vendor teams to maintain alignment and accountability.
- Establish clear project milestones, deliverables, risks, and ownership.
- Support product planning, backlog refinement, prioritization, and release management.
- Gradually assume Product Owner responsibilities for policy administration systems and adjacent technology products.
- Identify delivery risks early and proactively drive issues toward resolution.
- Provide clear, actionable reporting and communication to business and technology leadership.
- Leverage AI and automation where appropriate to improve delivery efficiency, documentation, and team productivity.
- Balance structured project management with the flexibility required in a fast-moving, resource-conscious environment.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing technology implementations, modernization initiatives, or enterprise platform upgrades.
- Strong working knowledge of Agile software development, Scrum methodologies, and practical delivery management.
- Hands-on experience with Jira, including backlog management, sprint planning, and delivery tracking.
- Experience translating business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and development priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, developers, architects, QA teams, and external vendors.
- Strong project planning, risk management, dependency management, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Product-oriented mindset with the ability to understand business processes, evaluate competing priorities, and contribute to technology roadmaps.
- Comfortable operating at both tactical and strategic levels, with a willingness to take direct ownership of deliverables.
- Experience with insurance technology, particularly policy administration systems, is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a hybrid PM/Product Owner role is highly desirable.
- Interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve technology delivery and operational efficiency.
