Quality Technician

  • Pay Rate: $23.00-$33.00/hour depending on experience
  • Contract Length: 6 months with possible extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
  • Location: Shreveport, LA 71107
  • Additional Information: Standard License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Summary

  • Responsible for performing quality control activities with a focus on electrical components, systems, and assemblies.
  • Ensures compliance with specifications, standards, and safety requirements through inspections, testing, and documentation within the assigned organization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and tests on electrical components, wiring, control panels, materials, equipment, and subassemblies to verify compliance with engineering specifications and applicable standards.
  • Review and validate documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
  • Use calibrated electrical measurement equipment (e.g., multimeters, megohmmeters) with acceptable repeatability and reproducibility.
  • Perform functional testing of electrical systems and troubleshoot non-conformances.
  • Document inspection and test results using designated business systems, following applicable procedures and electrical test plans.
  • Participate in job risk analysis and support continual improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure stability and consistency of test results over time.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization within testing and inspection areas.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to related Risk Assessments and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Apply principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to drive continuous improvement in quality processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in electrical systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and procedures.
  • Experience with electrical inspections, testing, or troubleshooting in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with quality management systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry standards.
  • Prior experience in quality control or electrical testing preferred.
