R&D Formulation Chemist
- Pay Rate: $40.87 per hour
- Location: West Babylon, NY
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Contract Duration: 2 months, with the possibility of extension
Are you passionate about formulation work in skincare, haircare, and personal care products? One of our clients is looking for an experienced R&D Formulation Chemist. This role will be responsible for ensuring smooth formulation processes and will play a crucial part in new product development, migration of production, and providing technical support with a focus on pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment and adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Develop and formulate products aligned with new product briefs and prepare them for potential customers.
- Fine-tune formulas to align with cost parameters and adapt them to “green” standards or specifications.
- Conduct stability studies and validation work.
- Troubleshoot issues in both laboratory and production batches and engage in reverse engineering.
- Oversee formulation progress at third-party formulators and manage essential documentation.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP protocols and provide technical advice across departments, including production, QA, QC, and regulatory affairs.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to complete all assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cosmetic emulsion or skincare formulation work, with a preference for 5 to 10 years of experience.
- Proven expertise in managing formulation-related paperwork and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to evaluate product concepts, design preservative systems, and track laboratory results.
- Strong project management skills and proficiency in utilizing software for time tracking and project updates.
