Machine Maintenance Technician
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00/hour on W2, depending on experience
Work Location: Onsite – Houston, TX 77054
Work Schedule: 4:00 am – 12:30 pm | Monday – Friday
Duration: 12-month contract with possible extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Additional Information: Standard Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
Raise is currently hiring a Machine Maintenance Technician on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Job Overview:
Install new mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems and repair or convert existing equipment to new uses. Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and electronic power drives and control systems on heavy mechanical equipment (troubleshooting).
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair Electrical, Mechanical, & Hydraulic systems/components in machines like
- Mazak (most critical)
- Mazatrol
- Mitsubishi
- Siemens Control
- Mori Seiki
- QEM
- Nagel TBT.
- Schedule and perform maintenance on all NC and manual equipment without supervision.
- Schedule and perform repairs on all NC and manual equipment, including multi-axis lathes and mills.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on machines using written instructions and a checklist.
- Assist in the installation of new mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Maintain equipment according to procedures, reporting any problems or deviations.
- Utilize all associated hand tools and automated or semi-automated equipment.
- Train others in functional areas and assist in preparing detailed reports on maintenance activities.
- Create preventive maintenance checklists for operators to follow.
- Participate in pre-job and toolbox meetings with crew members.
- Wear PPE at all times and observe health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Complete safety training in areas such as forklift, drugs and alcohol, electrical, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, risk reporting, IT security, and hazardous materials.
- May be assigned additional duties as needed by the company.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5-10 years of maintenance technician experience.
- Require minimal supervision.
- Physically demanding role with heavy lifting required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Former Mazak field technicians highly preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, especially in documenting and justifying maintenance needs to management.
- Computer skills in Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
- All PPE provided by the Company.
- Forklift and scissor lift experience preferred (certification can be provided internally).
- Familiarity with SAP and Brady LINK360 (lockout/tagout system) is a plus.
- Fine electronics/soldering experience is a plus.
