Construction Officer – Mica Creek
- Pay Rate: $64.40hour, depending on experience

Raise is currently hiring a Construction Officer – Mica Creek on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Construction Officer in this role will serve as the primary site coordinator and inspector for large-scale civil, electrical, and mechanical projects. You will be the "eyes and ears" on-site, ensuring that all work, materials, and costs align with the organizations stringent safety and quality expectations.
Responsibilities
- Inspects construction work on substations, transmission lines, and hydroelectric equipment using excellent skills in inspection procedures and construction methods to meet deadlines and comply with building and safety codes.
- Ensures work site safety by prioritizing safe execution and performing Safe Work Observations using excellent knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
- Conducts or coordinates site testing, surveying, and estimating activities using a good working knowledge of engineering drawings; prepares for potential working conditions including adverse weather, heights, or underground environments.
- Supports contract and/or work order administration by collaborating with contractors and internal construction services to ensure projects are implemented as planned regarding work, materials, progress, and costs.
- Acts as a subject matter expert by providing advice on complex technical issues to develop future capability.
- Responds appropriately to internal and third-party construction inquiries using excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to professionally represent on-site.
Qualifications
- 7 years of construction experience in a supervisory or foreperson role
- Strong verbal and written communication for coordinating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Skilled in managing interpersonal and contractual disputes constructively.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and empower teams to achieve high‑quality results.
- Experience with Contract Administration ability to interpret, negotiate, and manage construction contracts (i.e. ensure compliance with terms and conditions). Would be an asset for this role
- Education and Skills
- Electrical journeyperson preferred, other trades will be considered depending on the candidate.
Additional Information
- Location: Mica Creek, BC (i.e. 140km north for Revelstoke BC)
- Shift: 10 days on 4 days off. Other shifts available are 4 on, 3 off, 5 on, 2 off, 8 on, 6 off, 14 on, 7 off. The shift will be as directed by the hiring manager.
- Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
- Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
