- Pay Rate: $88.23/hour, depending on experience

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Senior Business Analyst to join our team and play a key role in the implementation of a Mezzanine Debt solution. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the business analysis efforts for this project, including gathering and documenting requirements specific to mezzanine financing, performing gap analysis, and collaborating with stakeholders across the bank to ensure successful delivery. The ideal candidate will have a combination of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and exceptional Business Analysis abilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the business analysis activities for the Mezzanine Debt solution implementation, including working with other BAs, Product, and UX partners for this technically complex solution.
- Gather and document mezzanine financing-specific business requirements from stakeholders, including credit analysts, risk managers, and operations teams.
- Analyze business requirements to identify pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in the current debt processing workflow.
- Conduct gap analysis with Business Partners to assess the differences between the current state and the desired state of the system, highlighting areas for enhancement.
- Work closely with technical teams (Product Managers, User Experience, Architect, Developers, Testers) to ensure accurate and efficient implementation of product features.
- Develop use cases and user stories to capture the functional requirements of the system, ensuring all user needs are met.
- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Facilitate backlog grooming and refinement sessions to ensure user stories are well-defined, estimated, and ready for development.
- Prioritizing requirements with Business Partners using a variety of criteria including current state manual workarounds.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and technical requirements for system implementation.
- Create data models and process flows to document business processes.
- Identify and document non-functional requirements, such as performance, security, and scalability, with a focus on financial data integrity and compliance.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive requirements traceability matrix to ensure all requirements are accounted for and tracked throughout the project lifecycle.
- Guide and actively participate in UAT to validate that the system meets the business requirements and user expectations.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the financial services sector, specifically within Commercial Lending, Corporate Finance, or Debt Management systems.
- Deep understanding of Mezzanine Financing or complex debt instruments, including the ability to model PIK (Payment-in-Kind) interest, warrants, and subordinated debt structures.
- Expererience with Complex Modeling & Visualization, ability to create advanced data models, process flows, and simplified visuals to explain how multiple interest streams interact across various legacy and modern systems.
- Experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment, with high proficiency in tools like Jira or Azure DevOps for backlog management and user story mapping.
- Ability to confidently facilitate workshops with Executive Stakeholders/Risk Managers and translate those needs into technical requirements for Developers.
- Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or Finance.
- Professional certification such as the CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or IIBA-AAC is highly preferred
