  • Pay Rate: $41.45/hour, depending on experience
  • Contract Length: 1 year
  • Location: Burnaby, British Columbia

 Raise is currently hiring a Maintenance Electrical Engineer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada

 

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

 

Description

As a Maintenance Electrical Engineer, in this role you will focus on the lifecycle management of electrical assets. Your primary mission is to develop and implement robust preventive maintenance (PM) programs that minimize downtime and optimize performance across a variety of power utility systems.

 

Responsibilities          

  • Program Development: Design and roll out comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for electricity generation equipment. This includes drafting technical procedures, maintenance instructions, and record forms.
  • Technical Documentation: Analyze technical drawings and manuals to understand system logic, identify potential failure modes, and prescribe corrective or preventive actions.
  • Asset Management: Support safety-related initiatives and asset management strategies to ensure all deliverables are met with high quality, on time, and within budget.
  • Spare Parts Strategy: Identify and select critical spare parts required to sustain continuous equipment operation.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as a liaison between engineering subject matter experts (SMEs), field personnel, and regulatory compliance teams to ensure maintenance programs are practical and compliant.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of engineering experience in equipment maintenance, commissioning, or an equivalent field.
  • Proven experience with the operation, maintenance, and failure remediation of equipment within power utilities, oil and gas, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Hands-on experience developing PM programs or commissioning plans for:
    • Generator exciters and DC power supplies (batteries, chargers).
    • Medium and Low Voltage AC equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear).
    • Control, monitoring, and electrical protection components.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves)
  • Familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track and manage assets.
  • A track record of successfully coordinating with diverse stakeholders, from field crews to regulatory bodies.
  • Education and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) with EGBC (or another jurisdiction with eligibility to register with EGBC).             

 Additional Information

  • Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
  • Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
