  • Pay Rate: $41.45/hour, depending on experience

Raise is currently hiring a Maintenance Electrical Engineer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description 

The Maintenance Electrical Engineer (EIT) with be part of our clients generation team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the longevity and reliability of our electricity generation infrastructure. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive preventive maintenance programs, supporting asset management initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Program Development: Design and implement preventive maintenance programs for electricity generation equipment. This includes authoring maintenance procedures, instructions, and record forms.
  • Asset Support: Identify and select critical spare parts required to sustain continuous equipment operation.
  • System Analysis: Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals to articulate system functionality, identify potential failure modes, and recommend design or maintenance interventions to mitigate risks.
  • Project Delivery: Manage deliverables to ensure they are completed with high quality, within budget, and on schedule.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with engineering subject matter experts (SMEs), field personnel, and regulatory bodies to align maintenance strategies with operational needs.
  • Safety & Compliance: Support safety-related initiatives and ensure all programs meets the rigorous internal and external standards.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of engineering experience in equipment maintenance, commissioning, or a related field.
  • Direct experience with the operation, maintenance, and failure remediation of equipment within power utilities, oil and gas, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Proven track record in developing commissioning plans or maintenance programs for assets such as:
    • Compressed air systems, water passage gates/valves, and water distribution systems.
    • Ventilation equipment and diesel generators.
    • Cranes, hoists, and hydraulic oil systems.
  • Preferred Skills (Nice to Haves)
  • Familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience bridging the gap between high-level engineering theory and practical field application.
  • Education and Skills 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) with EGBC (or another jurisdiction with eligibility to register with EGBC).
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize competing assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information 

  • Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
  • Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
