MS DevOps SME/Platform Engineer
- Location: ON – Hybrid – (Remote + occasionally in the GTA office for client meetings)

Responsibilities:
Enterprise-Grade IaC Development (Terraform)
- Design, build, and maintain reusable, standardized Terraform modules aligned with enterprise architecture and security requirements.
- Ensure modularity, reusability, scalability, and compliance across Azure resource deployments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning to reduce manual operations and configuration drift.
Cloud Governance: Subscription Vending, Bootstrap Automation & Policy-as-Code
- Implement automated subscription vending processes for creating governed Azure subscriptions.
- Develop bootstrap automation workflows to apply baseline configurations and guardrails.
- Define and enforce governance using Azure Policy, Blueprints, and policy-as-code standards.
- Ensure all cloud resources comply with regulatory, security, and operational guidelines.
Integration of Shared Platform Services
- Configure and integrate monitoring, observability, and performance tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Azure Monitor).
- Enable enterprise backup, DR, and centralized logging across environments.
- Implement secure key and secret management using Azure Key Vault and related tooling.
- Ensure platform-level controls for security, auditability, and resilience.
Environment Readiness, Application Onboarding & Validation
- Support environment readiness for new workloads and releases.
- Guide application and product teams through the onboarding journey.
- Validate technical, operational, and security requirements prior to go-live.
- Document readiness assessments, onboarding steps, and validation checkpoints.
Platform Troubleshooting, Performance Tuning & Remediation
- Monitor platform services during pilot phases and early onboarding.
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, networking, policy, and automation issues.
- Perform fine-tuning, optimization, and remediation to maintain stability and performance.
- Address deviations from best practices and enforce platform standards.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise:
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, networking, security, and monitoring).
- Strong proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
- Experience implementing DevOps pipelines, automation workflows, and CI/CD practices.
- Knowledge of Azure Policies, Blueprints, RBAC, and cloud governance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, backup, and key management services.
- Experience with tools like Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Key Vault, etc.
Professional Competencies
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, complex enterprise environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a methodical, data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication skills for guiding application teams and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proven experience in cloud platform engineering, operations, and architectural best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ‑104, AZ‑305, AZ‑400, or equivalent).
- Experience in large-scale cloud transformation or multi-subscription Azure environments.
- Background in platform engineering, cloud automation, or DevOps leadership roles.
