Raise is currently hiring a Project Manager – Heavy Maintenance on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a major Canadian airline.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description 

Our Client is undergoing a significant fleet transformation through a comprehensive Seat Reconfiguration Project. We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Project Manager to provide on-site leadership and oversight at our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) partner facility in Tucson. You will be the primary guardian of the organizations interests, ensuring that our aircraft are returned to service with the highest quality standards, on time, and within budget

Responsibilities

  • MRO Performance Management: Act as the primary point of contact between the organization and the MRO provider. Hold the vendor accountable to defined KPIs, stringent timelines, and contractual obligations.
  • On-Site Leadership: Provide daily oversight of the reconfiguration floor, ensuring production flow remains consistent and roadblocks are cleared immediately.
  • Schedule & Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential delays in the modification line and develop recovery plans to ensure fleet re-entry dates are met.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide real-time status updates to leadership regarding project progress, budget burn, and technical hurdles.
  • Conflict Resolution: Manage and resolve disputes regarding labor hours, material availability, or quality findings at the source.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in Aviation Maintenance, with at least 5 years in a Leadership or Project Management role specifically within Heavy Maintenance or modification environments.
  • Direct experience with Boeing 737 (NG/MAX) platforms is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Smartsheet) and aviation ERP systems (TRAX, Maintenix).
  • In-depth understanding of Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and interior modification workflows.
  • Proven ability to audit MRO work packages and verify "Return to Service" documentation.
  • Ability to manage "Scope Creep"—distinguishing between essential reconfiguration work and elective maintenance.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical floor staff and executive leadership.
  • Education and Certifications
  • Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license or equivalent technical background is mandatory.

Additional Information

  • Extensive travel and on-site presence at the MRO facility in Tucson, Arizona.
  • Must be available for on-call support to address AOG (Aircraft on Ground) issues or critical project milestones.
  • Industrial hangar environment; must be comfortable working around active heavy maintenance lines.
