IT Project Manager
- Pay Rate: $66.42 to $81.18 /hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 1 year with the possibility of an extension

Raise is currently hiring a IT Project Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a Canadian provincial crown corporation created and funded by the government of Alberta, responsible for promoting innovation in the province for Technology Futures, Health Solutions, Energy and Environment Solutions, and Bio Solutions
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The IT Project Manager in this role will lead an enterprise ERP upgrade initiative, with a strong focus on financial systems. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience managing ERP upgrades and will work closely with Finance, IT, and external vendors to guide the organization through the entire upgrade lifecycle—from planning and design through go-live and stabilization.
This role requires a project leader who can translate technical activities into business impacts, manage risk, and ensure Finance stakeholders are supported and prepared throughout the upgrade.
Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Delivery
- Leads and facilitates the end-to-end contract negotiation lifecycle. Ensure each of the project lifecycle is managed and properly transition to operation. This includes planning and design sessions, testing, training, product evaluation, change controls, communication strategies and solution adoption.
- ERP upgrade leadership
- Lead end-to-end delivery of ERP upgrade project, including planning, execution, testing, cutover, and post-go-live support
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, dependencies, and risk registers
- Coordinate internal IT teams, Finance stakeholders, system integrators, and vendors
- Finance & Business Partnership
- Act as the primary liaison between IT and Finance throughout the upgrade
- Guide Finance teams through key upgrade phases including requirements validation, process changes, testing, data migration, and user readiness
- Ensure financial modules are aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements
- Facilitate workshops and decision-making sessions to resolve process, data, and configuration impacts
- Governance & Delivery Management
- Establish and maintain project governance, status reporting, and executive communications
- Manage scope, change requests, and issue resolution to ensure delivery objectives are met
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial reporting standards
- Drive user acceptance testing (UAT) planning and execution with Finance and business teams
- Change, Risk & Quality Management
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data integrity, financial close, reporting, and business continuity
- Oversee cutover planning, go-live readiness, and stabilization activities
- Ensure documentation, training, and knowledge transfer are completed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of IT Project Management experience, with proven experience with Project Management methodologies.
- 5 years progressive Information Technology experience and a broad knowledge of Information Technology.
- Proven experience leading ERP upgrades is considered an asset.
- Strong experience working with Finance teams on financial systems or ERP transformations
- Solid understanding of financial business processes and system dependencies
- Skilled in executive reporting and stakeholder communication up to C-suite.
- Public sector experience is considered an asset.
- Education and Certifications
- PMP or related project management certification.
- ITIL v3 or v4 certification is considered an asset.
