We are Hiring! We are working with a multinational pipeline and energy client that is growing and adding a Petroleum Storage Engineer to their team.
Pay Rate: $53.00 – $56.00/hour on W2
Work Type: Hybrid – Houston, TX 77079
Duration: 12-month contract (with possible extension)
Key Responsibilities:
* Optimize performance of U.S. natural gas storage assets to maximize operational efficiency and commercial value.
* Maintain and strengthen relationships with outage coordinators, gas control room operators, capacity planning teams, field operations, and commercial services to ensure alignment on daily capacity, maintenance, and outage activities.
* Monitor storage asset performance daily to evaluate injection, withdrawal, and wheeling capabilities.
* Publish injection and withdrawal priorities for gas control operations.
* Issue updated customer postings related to storage facility outages.
* Approve storage transactions within the client’s LINK application system.
* Implement restrictions to customer storage nominations when operationally required.
* Develop, upload, and maintain operational documentation including storage operating modes, procedures, manuals, and presentations.
* Analyze historical nominations and pressure data to support storage field expansion evaluations.
* Provide commercial input into outage planning processes, ensuring outages are strategically prioritized and executed safely and efficiently with minimal customer impact.
* Collaborate closely with Gas Control, Integrity, Capacity Scheduling, and regional teams to develop detailed outage plans and maintain up-to-date commercial schedules.
* Clearly communicate outage impacts to commercial stakeholders and identify opportunities to enhance outage scheduling in coordination with internal and external partners.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
* Valid driver’s license.
* 1-3 years of experience in the natural gas industry (preferred)
* 1-3 years of experience working with process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) (preferred)
* 1-3 years of experience in data analytics, including tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Get & Transform, and SQL queries (preferred)
