  • Location: Prince George, British Columbia
  • Candidates in this role will start working in the Burnby Office and move to the Prince George Office once construction season starts  

Raise is currently hiring a Senior Contract Professional Construction NCTL  on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

As a Senior Contract Professional you will lead the commercial and contract management for high-complexity projects within the North Coast Transmission Line (NCTL) portfolio. This role requires a strategic partner capable of navigating the full contract lifecycle while ensuring safety, quality, and budget adherence. You will act as the primary bridge between supply chain, project stakeholders, and external contractors to maximize performance and mitigate risk in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities            

  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Execute formal management of complex construction contracts from early-stage development and procurement through to final closeout.
  • Performance Monitoring: Ensure both  and suppliers fulfill contractual obligations. Identify potential issues early and take decisive action to resolve disputes and minimize commercial risk.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain functional partnerships with cross-functional teams and suppliers, ensuring transparent communication and timely reporting.
  • Financial Oversight: Forecast, monitor, and report on contract usage to ensure alignment with ’s finance control policies and project budget requirements.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide expert guidance to client groups on public sector procurement law and supply chain concepts to drive "best value" outcomes for the organization.

Qualifications

  • 12 years of dedicated contract management experience, specifically within large-scale construction or infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience in Transmission Line and Substation construction, understanding the specific technical risks and milestone dependencies associated with high-voltage utility infrastructure.
  • Proven track record in construction and commercial contract management, specifically navigating the nuances of public sector procurement and multi-phase project execution.
  • Demonstrated success managing contracts on remote construction sites, with an understanding of the logistical challenges and safety protocols required for northern projects.
  • Direct experience working with First Nations contractors and communities, ability to build respectful, mutually beneficial relationships that align with project-specific community engagement goals.
  • Stakeholder Management Experience, ability to balance the needs of internal engineers, project managers, and external vendors, and communicate complex commercial terms in a way that is accessible and actionable for all parties.
  • Proficient in SAP, experience with real-time tracking of contract spend, purchase orders, and vendor performance metrics.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in  Business, Law, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designations are considered a strong asset.
  • Advanced English skills (written and spoken) suitable for a professional corporate and site-based environment.            

Additional Information

  • Location: Edmonds, BC (Primary) with frequent travel to Prince George, BC
  • Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
  • Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
