  • Pay Rate: $21.00/hour on W2
  • Contract Length: 6 months
  • Location: 50 miles within approved HUB location in the East Coast only (Remote)
  • Work Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET
  • Training Schedule: Same as work schedule

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

  • This position will support the Client Service Project Manager in executing all tasks related to the distribution process of settlement funds, working directly with law firms and claimants’ representatives. This role ensures that documentation, authorizations, payment details, and firm provided materials are accurate, complete, and processed efficiently to maintain compliance and timely fund distribution.
  • The team member in this role will collaborate closely with the Project Manager, Claims Operations, Data Services, Disbursements, and Finance, serving as a primary liaison between these internal teams and participating law firms.

Responsibilities

  • Documentation & Coordination
    • Review, track, and manage all trust required authorization forms, lien documents, releases, and other disbursement related materials received from law firms.
    • Work closely with law firm paralegals and case managers to clarify requirements, obtain outstanding documentation, and ensure all claimant data and materials are complete and accurate for disbursement.
    • Identify missing items, errors, or deficiencies in submitted packets and provide clear, timely follow ups for corrections or additional information.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in all communications and ensure complete compliance with settlement trust documentation and eligibility requirements.
  • Disbursement & Quality Review
    • Coordinate with the Disbursements team to confirm all claimant files are complete before payment initiation.
    • Track payment statuses, verify banking or check information, and assist in resolving discrepancies.
    • Support QC reviews to ensure claimant amounts, firm level allocations, all disbursement calculations, and supporting documentation are accurate and ready for distribution.
    • Help maintain and update the internal database to ensure all claimant information, calculations, and disbursement materials are recorded accurately and remain audit ready.
  • Project Coordination & Reporting
    • Partner with the Project Manager to maintain alignment with the trust disbursement schedule and escalate risks as needed.
    • Collaborate with Claims Operations, Data Services, and Finance to ensure deliverables are met at high quality and all teams remain informed of upcoming distributions and outstanding items.
    • Prepare internal reports on claimant readiness, documentation completeness, and law firm responsiveness, identifying trends and recurring issues.
    • Provide reporting and status updates to the Trustee or client as required, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and timely communication.
    • Maintain accurate logs and audit ready records, supporting overall compliance.
    • Provide a high-quality claimant and firm experience through professionalism, consistency, and strong attention to detail, including support during peak distribution cycles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1–3 years of paralegal or legal support experience, preferably in mass tort, claimant-based work, or settlement distribution processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy under fast paced conditions.
  • Critical thinking and issue spotting abilities.
  • Experience working directly with law firms or claimants is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook.
