Pay Rate: $32.14/hour on W2
Work Type: Hybrid – 4 days onsite / 1 day work from home
Location: Houston, TX 77002
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 5-month contract (with possible extension and)
Job Overview:
* As the organization accelerates its HR transformation to maintain market leadership, the Payroll Systems Specialist plays a critical role in supporting enterprise time and attendance processes, managing UKG/Kronos accruals, and resolving escalations.
* This role helps ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
* The Payroll Systems Specialist supports the accurate and timely processing of employee time and attendance data.
* This role manages daily transactions, resolves routine inquiries, and ensures compliance with company policies, pay rules, and payroll deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Timekeeping Operations
* Process timekeeping transactions including:
* Time corrections
* Accrual updates
* Absence entries
* Standard payroll adjustments
* Monitor time entries to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to payroll deadlines.
* Employee & Manager Support
* Resolve Tier 1-2 timekeeping inquiries through ServiceNow or designated intake channels.
* Provide clear and professional responses to employees and managers.
* Escalate complex or non-standard issues to Senior Associates or Supervisors.
* Compliance & Data Accuracy
* Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and control checkpoints.
* Identify data discrepancies and correct them according to guidelines.
* Maintain documentation and audit trails as required.
Collaboration & Development
* Partner with Payroll, HR Operations, and Managers as needed.
* Participate in training, job shadowing, and cross-training initiatives to support team development.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* 1-2 years of experience in HR operations, payroll, or timekeeping preferred.
* Experience with timekeeping systems (UKG, Oracle, or Kronos) highly preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and time management.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Understanding of HR operating models, shared services, and service delivery frameworks.
* Familiarity with HR compliance, regulatory frameworks, and data privacy practices.
