RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
· Develops and secures robust middleware solutions that facilitate seamless data exchange between disparate enterprise systems.
· Drive the strategic migration from BizTalk to Azure Integration Services (AIS), modernizing legacy workflows and architecting new enterprise integration patterns.
· Diagnose and resolve complex issues across multiple user applications and infrastructure.
· Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, operational artifacts, security protocols, and vulnerability management.
· Collaborate with TTC internal technical teams to migrate business and functional logic into new Logic Apps applications.
· Document functional and non-functional requirements (FR/NFR), technical design artifacts, interface mappings, and master catalogs.
· Execute defect triage and performance tuning while providing technical support for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
The Specialist will be required to work 2 days on-site at 4th Floor, 61 Front St W, Toronto or any other location within the City of Toronto as required by TTC and 3 days remote. this may change based on TTC Policy.
Skills and Certifications
Mandatory Requirements:
•Significant background in BizTalk Server (orchestrations, pipelines, maps including XSLT expertise, and adapters) as well as experience in migrating legacy middleware to the cloud
•4+ years Azure Logic Apps development and Azure certified developer
Additional Skills/ Experience:
· Post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
· 10+ years of expertise in enterprise-level systems integration specializing in the .NET Framework, .NET Core, Web API, and C# using Visual Studio/ Visual Studio Code.
· Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, Service Bus, API Management, Cosmos dB, Azure data factory and Azure storage
· Extensive experience with XSLT, XML, XSLT, Liquid templates, and JSON. Strong
· Experience with BizTalk migrations (schemas, maps, pipelines, orchestrations)
· Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep / ARM / Terraform)
· Proficiency with Git (branching strategies, PR reviews) and building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
· Experience with Private Endpoints, vNets, NSGs, DNS, hybrid connectivity
· Knowledge of security protocols: OAuth2, certificates, Key Vault secrets, Azure AD and RBAC
· Experience with Azure monitor, Application Insights & Log Analytics for distributed monitoring.
Assignment Duties
This will be a highly hands-on technical role requiring strong design, development, testing, and troubleshooting skills. The specialist must work collaboratively with cross-functional TTC teams (Enterprise Services, Platform Services, Network, ISO, Enterprise Data, Server Team, DBA, EA, QA) to deliver secure, compliant, and supportable integrations.
Core Technical Responsibilities
· Migrate the existing BizTalk applications and recreate equivalent workflows using Logic Apps Standard
· Develop mappings, transformations, schemas, and API-based integrations
· Build non-production infrastructure prerequisites using Bicep templates
· Develop reusable integration components and follow AIS best practices
· Troubleshoot message flows, authentication issues, network/connectivity failures
· Implement application telemetry using Azure monitor, App Insights & Log Analytics
· Prepare design documents, interface catalogs, operational runbooks, KT materials
Non-Production (DEV/TEST/UAT)
· Build and deploy Logic Apps, Functions, and Bicep templates
· Participate in DevOps pipeline execution and validation
· Conduct integration testing, SIT, and UAT support
· Collaborate with Enterprise Services (App Support) as primary non-prod ownerProduction (Platform Services-owned)
· Provide deployment-ready packages, runbooks, checklists, approvals
· Support Platform Services during Prod deployment windows
· Ensure compliance with ISO Infrastructure and Network deployment controls
Networking & Infrastructure
· Support QA, performance testing, and NFR validation
· Participate in cutovers, production readiness, and hypercare
· Coach TTC developers and contribute to reusable templates and integration standards
· Collaborate with EA on architectural patterns and approvals
· Provide updates to project and functional managers regarding progress
Cross-Functional Responsibilities

Deliverables
· Automation & Infrastructure: Fully documented CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), IaC artifacts (Bicep templates), and YAML configuration files.
· Non-Functional Requirement (NFR) Validation: Formal evidence of system resiliency, performance benchmarks, and robust error-handling/retry logic.
· Technical Specifications: Comprehensive integration design documents and data-mapping schemas.
· Functional Codebase: Deployed Azure Logic Apps workflows and Azure Functions within designated non-production environments.
· Testing Documentation: Detailed test logs and sign-offs for SIT, UAT, performance, and security/penetration testing.
· Operational Readiness: Support runbooks, Day-2 operational procedures, and administrative maintenance guides.
· Deployment & Transition: Detailed cutover strategies, rollback protocols, and a defined hypercare support framework.
Knowledge Management: Execution of formal knowledge transfer (KT) sessions and training materials for TTC personnel.
