Peoplesoft Functional Analyst

Raise is currently hiring a Peoplesoft Functional Analyst on behalf of our client, an esteemed financial institution. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Job Overview
Theh Business Systems Analyst in this role will provide expert support in optimizing, standardizing, and de-customizing the institution’s PeopleSoft environment. You will act as a subject matter expert in requirement elicitation and functional processes, working closely with technical teams to identify new software/infrastructure opportunities while reducing technical debt.
This role requires a strong background in PeopleSoft (Campus Solutions & HCM), ERP transformation, and the ability to oversee the development of products from specification through to implementation. You will be responsible for ensuring that all system changes align with long-term upgrade paths, governance standards, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
PeopleSoft Optimization & De-customization:
- Assess current Campus Solutions and HCM environments, including customizations, bolt-ons, and integrations.
- Identify opportunities to replace custom solutions with delivered PeopleSoft functionality.
- Lead de-customization and retrofitting strategies, including impact analysis and transition planning.
- Align system configuration with Oracle/PeopleSoft best practices and standards.
Process Standardization & Transformation:
- Partner with business and functional teams to analyze and redesign business processes.
- Promote standardized, scalable processes aligned with system capabilities.
- Advise on process simplification and automation opportunities.
- Support the development of future-state process models to address sustainability risks.
Data Quality & Governance Support:
- Assess data quality issues and identify redundant, inconsistent, or obsolete data.
- Support data clean-up strategies and establish sustainable data management approaches.
- Advise on data governance practices, structures, and controls to ensure long-term reliability.
Implementation, Configuration & Lifecycle:
- Support configuration changes across Campus Solutions and HCM modules.
- Collaborate with developers to oversee product development as per specifications.
- Facilitate change and configuration management while ensuring alignment with upgrade paths.
- Contribute to testing strategy (SIT/UAT) and validate functionality against requirement specifications.
Project Leadership & Documentation:
- Analyze and decompose complex requirements and perform gap analysis.
- Document requirements, create functional specifications, wireframes, and flowcharts.
- Prepare technical user manuals, system configuration documents, and other technical reports.
- Monitor performance, discover variances, and propose necessary corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of PeopleSoft experience, with deep expertise in Campus Solutions and Human Capital Management (HCM).
- Demonstrated experience in PeopleSoft best practices, delivered functionality, and de-customization/retrofitting initiatives.
- Proven track record in process redesign and standardization within complex ERP environments.
- Strong understanding of PeopleSoft architecture (PeopleTools, integrations, data structures) and configuration vs. customization trade-offs.
- Experience supporting large-scale ERP transformation or optimization initiatives.
- Nice to Have Qualifications
- Experience in post-secondary institutions (strongly preferred).
- Experience in public sector or complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Familiarity with:
- Student administration processes (admissions, enrollment, records).
- HR and payroll processes within HCM.
