Description
As a Senior SAP Master Data Specialist, you will be the guardian of data integrity for our Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) ecosystem. This role bridges the gap between complex engineering projects and daily maintenance operations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of master data—from the initial creation of functional locations for new capital projects to the granular enrichment of spare parts and maintenance plans.
Responsibilities

- Asset Hierarchy Maintenance: Build and manage Functional Locations and Equipment Objects to mirror physical site layouts.
- Materials & Spares: Develop and enrich Material Masters and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure maintenance teams have immediate access to the right parts.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM) Optimization: Configure and maintain Task Lists, Maintenance Items, Maintenance Plans, and Measuring Points to drive reliability.
- Data Quality & Governance: Lead "clean up" initiatives and data enrichment projects to rectify legacy data gaps and improve reporting accuracy.
- Project Integration: Collaborate with project teams to ensure all new assets installed at operating sites are seamlessly integrated into SAP prior to handover.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience, with a significant portion dedicated to data management or maintenance systems.
- 5 years of hands-on experience working at an operating site within the Energy or Mining sectors (Operations, Engineering, or Maintenance).
- Extensive experience in SAP EAM (PM/MM modules), specifically focused on maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Must be an experienced tradesperson or engineer who understands the physical realities of equipment maintenance and reliability. (Field Knowledge)
- A meticulous eye for detail and a deep understanding of how master data impacts downstream supply chain and financial reporting.
- Ability to translate technical engineering requirements into SAP-compatible data structures.
- Education and Certifications
- Engineering Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering is ideal.
- For candidates without a degree, a Journeyman Ticket in a relevant trade (e.g., Millwright, Heavy Duty Mechanic, or Electrician)
- Certifications (nice to have) SAP Certified Application Associate – Asset Management (S/4HANA), SAP Certified Application Associate – Master Data Governance (MDG), SAP ERP Integration of Business Processes (TS410)
