  • Contract Length: 4 Months
  • Location: Cigar Lake, Saskatchewan
  • Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided
  • Rotation (2 weeks in-2 weeks out, 11 hours a day)
  • Company Charter Flights provided – Departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
  • Contractors are expected to travel to Saskatoon for chartered flights to camp sites.

Raise is currently hiring a Engineer, Maintenance on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection

Description

Working within our clients Maintenance Engineering department, you will leverage your mechanical expertise to support both surface and underground operations. This role is critical in maximizing equipment availability and reliability through technical rigor and proactive maintenance strategies. You will be a key driver in solving complex technical failures and overseeing the execution of essential mechanical refurbishments.

Responsibilities            

  • Asset Reliability: Maximize equipment performance by developing and refining asset-specific strategies to prevent or eliminate failures.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Utilize formal root cause analysis and evaluation techniques to address complex mechanical and systemic issues.
  • Project Management: Support site capital and expense projects, ensuring all deliverables meet strict scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Maintenance Execution: Plan, coordinate, and oversee the execution of mechanical refurbishment work on-site.
  • Operational Support: Provide engineering guidance for a diverse range of mechanical equipment across both surface and underground environments.

Qualifications

  • 4–10+ years of relevant experience  with a proven track record within an underground mining environment. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with the specific challenges of underground mechanical systems, ventilation, or heavy equipment maintenance
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & Reliability Engineering – experience using formal problem-solving techniques (such as FMEA, Fishbone, or 5-Whys) to evaluate equipment failures
  • CMMS Proficiency (Specifically SAP) – experience for tracking work orders, asset history, and maintenance scheduling
  • Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Implementation – exposure to predictive techniques such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, or ultrasound to monitor equipment health before a failure occurs.
  • Capital & Expense Project Delivery – experience managing mechanical refurbishment projects or site improvements responsible for staying within the defined scope, schedule, and budget
  • Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Must hold a P.Eng. designation with (or be eligible for) APEGS.

Additional Requirements

As this is a safety Sensitive Role Pre-access substance testing will be required
