Payroll Manager
- Work Type: Onsite
- Work Schedule: Shift: Monday to Friday 8 AM CST to 4:00 PM CST with no more than 32 hours a week.

Raise in partnership with ADM are seeking to hire a Lab Technician (Relief Swing Shift) in Decatur, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the payroll function with a strong collaboration and team-oriented approach, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing and payroll tax administration
- Oversee the preparation, review and approval of the full cycle payroll process while ensure policies, practices and procedures are followed by direct reports while ensuring confidentiality of HR and payroll data
- Manage, mentor, and counsel the Payroll team
- Partner with Compensation & Benefits, HRIS, Tax Dept, NA HR, GT and Accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions
- Assist with SOX compliance along with adhering to internal policies and controls, as well as compliance with external laws and regulatory guidance, while maintaining documentation for payroll processes and implementing improvements
- Manage regular preparation of applicable reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
- Ensure all periodic federal and state payroll tax deposits, tax reporting, W-2’s, etc. are processed timely and accurately
- Responsible for payroll-related accounting activities and related monthly, quarterly, and year end reporting including payroll G/L accounts reconciliations
- Keep current on all laws and regulations related to payroll to ensure compliance on an ongoing basis and take necessary steps to implement change
- Provide management, direction, support and guidance to payroll team
- Communicate actively with HR Operations to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing
- Support the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and practices
- Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results
- Audit, analyze and ensure the security, integrity and ongoing maintenance of data controls across departmental systems and through vendor management
- Serve as liaison with other key departments for resolution of payroll problems
- Provide officer’s earnings and fringe benefits to the Legal Department on a fiscal-year basis for proxy purposes
Requirements:
- Must have five + years experience of an inhouse payroll system with related experience which encompasses general payroll procedures
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Strong compliance background and experience with Tax and Accounting compliant procedures
- Exposure and knowledge of complex HR processes that impact payroll
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis
- Strong communication skills (oral & written); ability to effectively interact with others at all levels
- Experience in Success Factors, Employee Central
- Experienced people leader with direct/indirect teams
- People management experience with the ability to lead and develop individuals at different levels and with an array of skill sets
- Prior experience implementing changes to an inhouse payroll and timekeeping systems to meet changing business requirements
- Experience with manufacturing or hourly requirements for timekeeping systems
- Experience with SOX compliance internal controls and testing
