Storekeeper (Warehouse)
Pay Rate: $21.00 – $22.00/hour on W2, depending on experience +$2.00/hr differential for 2nd Shift
Work Type: Onsite – Rosharon, TX 77583
Shift Details: Monday – Friday | Working weekends as needed
1st shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
2nd shift: 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (+$2.00/hr differential)
Training: Occurs on 1st shift even for 2nd shift hires (shift differential does not apply during training).
Duration: 12-month contract with possible extension/conversion
Additional Information: Standard Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
Raise is currently hiring a Storekeeper (Warehouse) on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Job Overview:
This role focuses on the comprehensive management of warehouse inventory and daily operations within a collaborative, high-accountability environment. The position involves the safe handling of materials, precise documentation, and the operation of various forklifts while maintaining strict compliance with safety and quality standards. This role requires physical agility, the ability to work at heights, and a willingness to rotate through different departmental assignments to ensure operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with applicable company policies including, but not limited to, personnel and QHSE.
- Perform inspecting, labeling, receiving, storing, picking, packing, issuing, disposal, and cycle counting of inventory items.
- Accept supplier deliveries, checking that actual items received are in suitable condition and match the packing list and/or purchase order, and report discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure outgoing inventory items are suitably packed and issued with correct and complete documentation.
- Improve efficiency and safety by optimizing warehouse bin locations.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping within the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
- Perform inventory cycle counting and support periodic physical counts.
- Perform tasks associated with Kitting and Kanban point-of-use replenishment and other materials management initiatives as directed by the Supervisor.
- Investigate and resolve local inventory and warehouse issues as requested by the Supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
- Operate a forklift or other materials handling equipment upon completion of training and certification.
- Work in a collaborative environment with individual accountability; cross-training is encouraged.
- Participate in weekly assignment rotations as possible (e.g., GR → IC → picking).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years in warehouse/material handling or a closely related role.
- SAP or other MRP experience; basic Microsoft (e.g., Excel/Word) is preferred.
- Pre-hire forklift certification is not mandatory (Company will recertify), though existing certifications are a plus.
- Ability to operate different types of forklifts (sit-down, side-loader, stand-up reach, man-lift, Flexi articulated forklift) and comfortable working at heights up to approximately 23 feet.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy during repetitive tasks, with strong engagement and reliability.
- Agility to rotate across assignments, including goods receipt (GR), inventory control (IC), and picking.
- Ability to lift at least 70 lbs from floor to knuckles and floor to waist on an occasional basis.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs from floor to shoulder on an occasional basis.
- Ability to carry at least 70 lbs for a minimum of 5 feet on an occasional basis.
- Comfortable operating at heights up to approximately 23 feet and able to work in hot environments.
Work Environment:
- Warehouse is not fully air conditioned; some work outdoors; hot temperatures likely.
- Facility exposure includes explosives areas; TCC Controlled Technology check required.
- All PPE provided by the Company.
