Machine Operator – 3rd Shift
Pay: $26.00/hour on W2
Work Type: Onsite -Chanhassen, MN 55317
Work Schedule: 3rd Shift | 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM | Sunday – Thursday | Mandatory overtime every Saturday (Friday into Saturday)
Duration: 6-month contract (potential conversion not guaranteed)
Job Overview:
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating production machinery, ensuring product quality, maintaining equipment, and supporting overall production processes in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate production machinery and monitor output quality and performance
- Perform minor machine adjustments using hand tools
- Conduct production, quality inspections, and mailing of materials/finished goods
- Maintain equipment in proper working condition
- Complete documentation and audit logs (production, inventory, ISO controls, finished goods)
- Handle shredding of materials
- Stock materials and prepare for production
- Perform weekly shop floor cleaning (sweeping, trash removal)
- Review job sheets and proofs to meet customer specifications
- Communicate issues related to quality, production, or maintenance to supervisors
- Identify and troubleshoot machine operation issues
- Ensure proper shift handoff communication with incoming operators
- Assist other operators and provide coverage during breaks/lunch
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
- Eligible to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) clearance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of basic hand tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and typing)
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitask
- Ability to troubleshoot routine machine issues
- Ability to document checklists accurately
- Ability to follow SOPs and work instructions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Up to 1 year of manufacturing experience
- Up to 1 year of machine operation or IT-related experience
- Experience operating production machinery
- Relevant technical education or training
Physical Requirements:
- Work in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to moderate noise levels (below 85 dB)
- Required use of PPE (e.g., safety shoes, safety glasses as needed)
- Ability to distinguish colors across the full spectrum
- Repetitive motion required
- Strong hand-eye coordination
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
