Raise is currently hiring a Component Repair Specialist on behalf of one of our top clients, a major Canadian airline. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Job Overview

Join our Technical Operations team as a Component Repair Specialist, where you'll play a key role in managing aircraft and component repair, overhaul, and exchange processes. In this dynamic position, you'll be responsible for creating and managing Repair, Exchange, and Work Orders in alignment with Transport Canada regulations and approved technical data. You'll oversee outsourced and internal repairs, ensure compliance with contractual terms, and maintain budget integrity.

This role involves vendor sourcing and coordination, evaluating and approving quotes and invoices (up to $100,000), monitoring component turnaround times, and supporting warranty recovery efforts. You'll collaborate with OEMs and vendors, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and develop expertise in systems like eMRO.

Ideal candidates will have experience in aviation maintenance or technical operations, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. Responsibilities:

  • Processes Aircraft and Component related Repair, Overhaul and Exchange orders.
  • Component Repair Specialists are responsible for creating Repair Orders (RO) and Exchange Orders (EX) and Work Orders (WO) based on required scope per Transport Canada Approved Technical Data (AMM, SRM, CMM, SB, AD and other approved technical publications).
  • Individuals will have responsibility for ensuring outsourced and internal component repairs are accomplished in accordance with the Transport Canada CAR’s regulations and the Maintenance Schedule Approval (MSA).
  • Individuals are responsible for sourcing and participating in approval of Technical Vendors to ensure component repairs, overhaul and exchanges are accomplished per Transport Canada and Industry Leading Approved Vendors.
  • Work with senior members of the team when negotiating one off pricing.
  • Component Repair Specialists are responsible for each order they create to ensure repairs / overhauls and exchanges are accomplished in accordance with contractual or expected pricing to ensure budget integrity.
  • Component Repair Specialists will be trained and will eventually be responsible for reviewing and approving vendor quotes and invoicing up to an individual approval limit of $100,000 per quote. Approvals above $100,000 revert to Management level.
  • Responsible for monitoring status of components in the repair cycle and proactively querying to ensure parts are returned within the contracted turnaround times and available to support operational requirements. Senior Specialists are responsible for the Component Repair Expedite Process and will provide guidance to individuals assigned to execute the expedite process.
  • Responsible for identifying and actioning basic warranty recovery as required. Complex and difficult warranty and claims cases revert to a Senior Warranty, Insurance & Claims Specialist.
  • Responsible for taking pictures as required to ensure integrity of warranty, insurance, cost recovery, and component repair process(s).
  • Build relationships with OEM’s and Vendor Representatives and work directly with them as required regarding component repair and overhaul.
  • Supports Technical Operations (Tech Ops) Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • Component Repair Specialists will be expected to develop a working knowledge of eMRO and the component repair process.

Qualifications:

  • Holding or working toward AME certification an asset
  • Working knowledge of eMRO or similar maintenance tracking systems
  • Prior experience in component logistics or quality assurance
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience working within an airline environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working in an aircraft technical operations environment is considered an asset (aircraft and component repair, aircraft / component warranty, Aviation Insurance, Material etc.
  • Working knowledge of the aircraft component MRO process and contracts.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft component IPC, CMM, AMM etc.
  • Working knowledge of the Boeing Standard Warranty and PSAA programs / processes
  • Working knowledge of the De Havilland of Canada Standard Warranty program / process

Additional Information:

  • This position requires work in both an office environment and within a bonded stores/warehouse where safety footwear is required.
  • Lifting and moving of aircraft components and tooling is required.
  • Position is full-time office M-F. Based on operational needs a shift schedule providing 7 day per week coverage may be implemented in the future.
