Assembly Shop Technician
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour on W2, depending on experience
Work Type: Onsite – Pittsburg, CA 94565
Work Schedule: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm with overtime and weekend hours as needed
Duration: 12-month contract with possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Additional Details: Standard Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
Raise is currently hiring an Assembly Shop Technician on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Responsibilities:
- Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling and equipment setup, etc.
- Assist with transition from production to packing.
- Manufacture, assemble, and test mechanical, of product according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications and written procedures.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety.
- Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas.
- Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to achieving organizational success.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must have basic product assembly experience.
- Ability to read and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, or technical drawings.
- Must be a reliable team player who communicates well and works effectively with others.
- Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.
- Ability to interpret specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
- Basic mathematics skills.
- Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to climb ladders/stairs and work in small restricted areas.
- Perform repetitive work including lifting of heavy items up to 44 lbs.
- Work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualifications:
- Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.
- Experienced in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.
