Electrical Technologist
- Contract Length: 7 Months
- Location: McArthur River Saskatchewan
- Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided
- Rotation (2 weeks in-2weeks out, 11 hours a day)
- Company Charter Flights provided – Departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
- Contractors are expected to travel to Saskatoon for chartered flights to camp sites

Description
The Electrical Technologist at McArthur River will support the Electrical and/or Instrumentation Engineering Lead in the execution of major and sustaining capital projects. This role involves design, drafting, technical support, and field involvement across surface and underground electrical systems in industrial and mining environments.
Responsibilities
- Safety & Culture
- Demonstrate a strong personal safety culture and task risk assessment skills.
- Support and comply with all safety programs, processes, and procedures.
- Actively contribute to maintaining a safe work environment in office and field settings.
- Engineering & Technical Support
- Support the Electrical and/or Instrumentation Engineering Lead on major and sustaining capital projects.
- Develop, review, and support Scopes of Work (SOW) for electrical installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in the design, drafting, and detailing of:
- Low, Medium, and High Voltage electrical systems
- Power distribution and motor control systems
- PLC systems and industrial communication networks
- Support projects including:
- Underground electrical expansion and outfitting
- Generator upgrades and power system troubleshooting
- Plant expansions and infrastructure upgrades
- Prepare, update, and maintain engineering drawings, calculations, and technical deliverables.
- Produce and revise electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Assist with procurement activities including:
- Technical bid evaluations
- Shop drawing and vendor document reviews
- Engineering calculations and technical clarifications
- Provide technical troubleshooting support during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
- Occasional travel to project sites in Northern Saskatchewan and Ontario may be required
- Work effectively across multiple priorities and changing project demands.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department.
Qualifications
- 4–9 years Experience developing Scopes of Work for electrical projects in industrial, mining, or heavy infrastructure environments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for creating and revising electrical drawings.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Preferred / Asset Qualifications
- Experience in mining or heavy industrial environments, particularly underground operations.
- Field experience supporting construction, commissioning, or maintenance activities.
- Experience with PLC programming, instrumentation, and industrial networking.
- Previous work at remote or safety sensitive industrial sites.
- Education and Certifications
- Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma or Engineering Degree or Journeyperson Electrical certificate with applicable experience

- As this is a safety Sensitive Role Pre-access substance testing will be required
