Job Overview
Responsible for supporting warehouse operations for the client through the efficient handling, storage, and tracking of materials and inventory. This role ensures accurate inventory management, safe handling of goods, and timely coordination with internal teams and vendors to support operational and project needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Load and unload materials from trucks and within the warehouse
* Store goods in accordance with established storage methods and safety standards
* Operate warehouse equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
* Pick, pack, and issue materials and supplies as required
* Assign appropriate accounting and budgeting codes to inventory transactions
* Enter and maintain accurate inventory records in systems and databases
* Verify deliveries against packing slips, delivery tickets, and bills of lading
* Coordinate with internal departments and vendors to resolve delivery discrepancies
* Plan and execute monthly inventory cycle counts, including research and adjustment of variances
* Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment of materials as needed
* Support project material requirements, including ordering, tracking, and distribution
* Purchase emergency parts and supplies when required
* Respond to data and reporting requests from internal stakeholders
* Conduct safety meetings and promote adherence to warehouse safety practices
* Support specialized functions such as inventory control, replenishment, logistics coordination, and project material management
* Travel to other warehouse locations as required
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED preferred
* Minimum of 2-3 years of related warehouse or inventory experience
* Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, inventory management, and storage practices
* Basic understanding of accounting codes and inventory transaction processes
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
* Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
* Proficiency with computers and inventory management systems
* Ability to analyze inventory discrepancies and apply problem-solving skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive working relationships
* Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds unassisted
* Reliable attendance and ability to work in a structured environment
* Experience with SAP is an asset
* Willingness to work occasional overtime as required
