Quality Specialist
Pay Rate: Up to $20.00/hour on W2 +$3 shift differential, depending on experience
Work Type: Onsite – Odessa, TX 79763
Work Schedule: 3:00 pm – 3:00 am | 11 days on, 3 days off
Duration: 3-month contract with possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Additional Details: Standard Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
Raise is currently hiring a Quality Specialist on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Responsibilities:
- Perform moderately complex and intricate inspection processes, identifying defects in parts, and approving or rejecting items based on quality specifications.
- Uphold company quality standards and verify that all testing equipment functions correctly.
- Identify ongoing quality issues, prevent potential production problems, and proactively offer suggestions for process improvement.
- Accurately complete inspection reports, test results, and all necessary paperwork.
- Respond to questions, present information clearly, and interact politely with customers and coworkers.
- Follow all safety policies; proactively identify, confront, and report unsafe behaviors or conditions.
- Maintain consistent, predictable attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 year of experience in ESP, with a strong preference for background in manufacturing or quality environments.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications and an ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to interpret technical requirements.
- Customer-first mindset, results-oriented, and ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be authorized to work in the country (immigration sponsorship is not offered).
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
This role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to drug testing. Candidates must be able to perform the following essential functions:
- Regularly exert up to 20 lbs, frequently move up to 20 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps; maintain equilibrium on narrow or moving surfaces; crawl on hands and knees; and bend, crouch, or kneel frequently.
- Ability to move objects through pushing, pulling, dragging, or hauling using upper extremities; move between work sites on foot; and maneuver with body agility.
- High proficiency in fine motor tasks (picking, pinching, typing) and using fingers/palms for tactile inspection (feeling for texture, temperature, etc.)
- Must possess close visual acuity for inspecting small defects/parts, using measurement devices, operating machines, and determining work accuracy. Must also have the visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
- Ability to perceive and discriminate sounds at normal speaking levels to receive detailed instructions.
- The role occurs in both indoor and outdoor settings. Exposure to extreme heat (over 100°F), humidity, and wind is possible.
- Potential exposure to fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, oils, cutting fluids, electrical currents, and moving mechanical parts.
