SAP Security & Authorization Consultant
- Pay Rate: $103.35/hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 1 Year

Raise is currently hiring an SAP Security & Authorization Consultant on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Senior SAP Security Consultant tin this role will lead and manage SAP security across a complex enterprise landscape. This role will be responsible for ensuring robust access governance, driving security incident resolution, delivering enhancements, and supporting transformation initiatives across SAP platforms including S/4HANA, SAP GRC, SAP BTP, and SAP SuccessFactors. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong operational leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Security Operations & Governance
- Lead day-to-day SAP security operations, including user access management, role provisioning, and compliance monitoring
- Own and manage SAP security incident response, including investigation, root cause analysis, and remediation
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX)
- Establish and maintain security standards, procedures, and best practices
- Access & Role Management
- Design, build, and maintain SAP roles and authorizations across S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, and BTP
- Drive role redesign and optimization initiatives to align with business processes and least privilege principles
- Manage firefighter access, emergency access controls, and periodic access reviews
- SAP GRC Management
- Configure and support SAP GRC Access Control modules (ARA, ARM, EAM, BRM)
- Maintain and update rule sets, risk analysis frameworks, and mitigation controls
- Lead periodic user access reviews and Segregation of Duties (SoD) compliance activities
- Incident & Enhancement Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for security-related incidents and service requests
- Analyze and implement security enhancements aligned with business and project needs
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams to embed security in solution design
- Platform Security (S/4, BTP, SuccessFactors)
- Ensure secure configuration and integration across:
- SAP S/4HANA (Fiori, backend authorizations)
- SAP BTP (IAS, IPS, role collections, identity provisioning)
- SAP SuccessFactors (RBP framework, user lifecycle)
- Support identity and access integration across cloud and on-premise environments
- Project & Transformation Support
- Provide security expertise in SAP projects (implementations, upgrades, migrations)
- Participate in design reviews to ensure secure and compliant solutions
- Support adoption of new technologies such as AI, automation, and cloud security models
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with business, audit, compliance, and IT teams
- Provide guidance and training on SAP security processes and tools
- Communicate risks, issues, and recommendations to leadership
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in SAP Security & Authorization
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- SAP S/4HANA Security (including Fiori)
- SAP GRC Access Control (ARA, ARM, EAM, BRM)
- SAP BTP Security (IAS, IPS, role collections)
- SAP SuccessFactors Role-Based Permissions (RBP)
- Proven experience managing security operations, incidents, and enhancements
- Deep understanding of Segregation of Duties (SoD) and compliance frameworks
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory requirements
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in RISE with SAP or cloud transformation programs
- Knowledge of SAP Identity Access Governance (IAG)
- Familiarity with integration security (APIs, OAuth, SAML, SSO)
- Experience in utilities or large enterprise environments
- SAP Security or GRC certification

Additional Information
Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
