Senior CAD Designer
- Pay Rate: $60.00 – $65.15/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 12 months
- Location: Spring, TX 77389 – Onsite (Open for Remote)
Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
- The SolidWorks 3D Designer supports engineers by developing accurate 3D models and detailed 2D drawing packages for Oil and Gas equipment.
- This role will support technology development and projects across the project lifecycle and will primarily interface with engineers at our Spring Texas Campus.
- In addition to technical ability, they should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and maintain 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks under the direction of engineers and designers.
- Generate complete 2D drawing packages from 3D models, including BOMs and fabrication, machining, and manufacturing details.
- Create accurate 3D models from 2D as-built drawings, datasheets, and through reverse engineering of existing components and equipment.
- Ensure designs comply with manufacturing, machining, and fabrication requirements.
- Revise and update drawings per engineer instructions and resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.
- Collaborate effectively with project design teams and design originators; manage interfaces across engineering disciplines.
- Mentorship and training of internal resources.
- Coordinate and communicate engineering drawing issues with internal teams and contractors.
- Provide document control support, database administration, and progress reporting.
- Keep supervisor informed of engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns.
Qualifications
- 10+ years proven experience producing production‑ready 3D models in SolidWorks.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks; CSWP certification required, CSWE preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing methods, and machining, with practical shop‑floor experience.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent priority changes.
- High attention to detail with effective time management, including working independently in a remote environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) for technical and business contexts.
- Ability to take clear direction and execute tasks independently.
