Mechanical Technologist
- Contract Length: 11 Months
- Location: McArthur River
- Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided
- Rotation (2 week’s in-2 weeks out, 11 hours a day)
- Company Charter Flights provided – Departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
- Contractors are expected to travel to Saskatoon for chartered flights to camp sites.

Description
The Mechanical Technologist in this role will join our clients site engineering team. This role is pivotal in executing mechanical design projects, utilizing advanced 3D modeling tools to support our mining and processing operations. You will work closely with Mechanical Engineers to transform conceptual designs into detailed 2D and 3D technical deliverables, ensuring all documentation aligns with ’s rigorous CAD standards and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design work using 3D modeling tools (AutoCad Plant 3D and 3D Point Cloud) to develop 3D models, 2D drawings on various projects executed within .
- Work with mechanical engineers in support of development of intelligent P&IDs, 3D modelling, piping and general arrangements, HVAC and other mechanical design drawings
- Develop BOMs and construction work packages
- Perform inspections of piping, tanks, structures, HVAC system, & other mining equipment as required.
- Manage the site engineering documentation through vault and/or site document filing system.
- Perform/manage small projects as necessary whenever required.
- Site personnel will provide support to the qualified Mechanical technologist as and when required.
Qualifications
- 4 to 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and drafting within a heavy industrial or mining environment.
- Experience in 3D modelling in Autodesk Plant3D, working knowledge of smart P&IDs in Plant 3D, Cloudworx, Jetstream 3D Modeling, Navisworks, and AutoCAD in general
- Previous experience working with CAD standards & Procedures preferred
- Experience with process piping, pumping, equipment and layout design, HVAC, building services, & inspection
- Education and Certifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from a recognized polytechnic or technical institute.
- Must hold (or be eligible for) a Technologist Certification (e.g., AScT or CET designation).

- As this is a safety Sensitive Role Pre-access substance testing will be required
