Raise is currently hiring a Project Manager PCM Station Projects on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description 

The Project Manager for PCM Station Projects is responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital infrastructure projects across the organizations facilities throughout the province. This role requires an adaptable, resourceful, and technically proficient individual who can effectively manage projects from definition through implementation, often with lean and agile project teams. Project values generally range from $300k up to $20 million.

Project Portfolio Overview

The PCM Station Projects team delivers capital projects for the following initiators: Generation, Dam Safety, Telecom, Transmission Stations, and Public Use Management Areas (PUMA).

Project Types Include: Compressor replacements in Generating Facilities, transformer life extensions at Substations, and road upgrades at Public Use Sites.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and reporting on all aspects of project delivery for low to medium risk construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Project Leadership & Execution:
    • Plan, direct, and report on project activities, consistently monitoring project benefits, resources, and status.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans and risk management plans for effective management throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Manage projects with typical timelines requiring approximately one year for definition (design/procurement) and one year for implementation (construction/commissioning), with flexibility for multi-unit or outage-dependent work.
  • Cross-Functional Management:
    • Effectively manage multiple activities, including: quality assurance, engineering, First Nations and stakeholder engagement, communication, regulatory approvals, procurement, planning and controls, construction management, pre-commissioning, employee relations, and safety.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Create and maintain critical project documentation, such as project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports, and post implementation reviews.
    • Complete core project management activities: scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks.
  • Stakeholder Relations:
    • Maintain meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders, including customers, engineers, and field crews, through regular communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to ensure timely project progression.
  • Tool Proficiency:
    • Utilize intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and other project management programs to fulfill ’s business needs.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of project management experience or equivalent with extensive field experience in a construction or infrastructure project environment.
  • Strong Technical Background relevant to station, generation, or substation infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with developing comprehensive project plans and risk management plans for effective management throughout the project lifecycle. Project values generally range from $300k up to $20 million.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Procurement processes.
  • Proven ability to be adaptable and resourceful in managing lean, agile projects
  • Previous SAP experience (nice to have)
  • Education and Skills 
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is considered an asset.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation is preferred.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Advanced English skills for a professional environment (written and spoken).

Additional Information 

  • Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
  • Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network
