Technical Business Analyst
- Pay Rate: $82.00 hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 8 months, with a possible extension

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Technical Business Analyst in this role will support the migration from the Research Management System (RMS) and Electronic Research Services Office (eRSO) applications to the PeopleSoft Grants and Contract modules. Term: January 5, 2026 to August 31, 2026 with possibility of extension. Reporting to the Associate Director of IT Investment Office (ITIO), the Technical Business Analyst is responsible for the requirements deliverables of the projects assigned as well as ensuring adherence to University Policies, the ITIO Methodology, and specific Solution Delivery processes and standards.
Deliverables
- Data Cleanup & Migration
- Review data mapping to confirm data extractions are complete
- Work with the technical team and business groups to resolve data migration issues and data cleanup
- Quality Assurance
- Develop test strategy, test plan and test cases
- Test execution and defect tracking
- Deliverables: Testing strategy, plan and test cases
- Reporting & Data Warehouse
- Work with development teams and business groups to review:
- Existing reports and queries
- New management reports and queries
- Prepare test cases, execute testing and track deficiencies
- Validate data integrity and consistency across reports and data warehouse tables
- Support analysis for data quality issues and recommend corrective actions
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to the ITIO Methodology, use of our BA standard templates as well as the specific Solution Delivery processes and standards.
- Liaise with the ITIO group for additional guidance on ITIO BA standards.
- Ensure all project documentation and deliverables are stored in the official SharePoint project repository.
- Ensure that project decisions are formally documented as per ITIO Methodology.
- Provide reporting and status updates to the ITIO team as required.
- Ensure compliance with University standards, policies and procedures
- Ensure the library of project documentation are maintained and communicated to the consultants, developers and the entire team
- Influence and engage all levels of stakeholders and support change.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Functional/Data/Business Analyst with a Strong background in data conversion and migration from third-party systems
- Experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 (up to Image 49) and PeopleTools 8.60, including functional modules such as Grants, Contracts, and Project Costing (Must Have)
- Experience working on enterprise level programs and familiarity with BA methodologies and tools.
- Ability to work with a large cross-section of users (Research, Finance and Research Legal)
- Previous public sector experience (Nice to Have)
- Education
- Post secondary education in related field
- Highly proficient in communication skills
- Must be: flexible and able to work in a dynamic environment and changing situations, a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others, able to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
- Strong facilitation skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of stakeholders.
- Strategic, critical and analytical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving.
Additional Information
- Expected work hours are 100% FTE role with a maximum of 160 hrs per month.
- The client expects that the BA will be at 100% capacity on the Project. The expectation is that the candidate will not be charging for time not worked.
- This is a hybrid position (3 days onsite/2 days remote)
