Reservoir Engineering Specialist
Pay Rate: $55.00/hr on W2, depending on experience
Work Type: Hybrid – Houston, TX 77032
Work Schedule: Hybrid with minimum of 3 days/week in the office.
Duration: 2-year contract with possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Additional Details: Standard Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
Raise is currently hiring a Reservoir Engineering Specialist on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, demonstrates creativity and engineering judgment in solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.
- Assist in designing and implementing reservoir and wellbore fluid treatment and placement applications.
- Apply fluid mechanics theory to rheological characterization, flow modeling, solids transport, viscoelasticity, and friction.
- Utilize geomechanics technologies for mini-frac analysis, formation sanding potential, wellbore stability, pore pressure prediction, stress analysis, and mechanical property determination.
- Apply reservoir engineering techniques for production decline analysis, well test analysis, fluid flow in porous media, and production simulation.
- Perform basic numerical modeling, data analysis, correlation, and model development using commercial software.
- Develop chemical products and processes through chemical and engineering analysis.
- Conduct specialized tests and simulations, including designing modeling apparatus and data acquisition systems.
- Use existing software to provide engineering solutions and offer field support.
- Participate in project planning and performance under project leaders' and management's guidance.
- Resolve technical and operational questions with internal customers.
- Ensure job tasks are performed correctly to impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, and operations.
- Confine and measure the consequences of errors effectively.
Qualifications:
- Skills typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science, or a similar discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- 3-5 years of experience preferred; Master's or PhD in Petroleum Engineering is advantageous.
- Expertise in near wellbore reservoir engineering.
- Familiarity with reservoir simulation software.
- Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional is preferred.
- Strong background in formation testing and evaluation.
- Knowledge in data science and coding.
- Proven team player.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in technical documentation writing.
